Meet Jency Chacko,M.S., CCC-SLP

Most parents who come to Playhouse have already tried so much. They’ve read the books, searched online, and just want someone who truly understands their child — someone who sees their strengths and knows how to help.

That’s what led me to build Playhouse Speech Therapy. I help Autistic, ADHD, and Apraxia kids strengthen communication, social, and executive function skills in ways that feel natural and doable. I use each child’s strengths and interests to teach the skills that help them stay organized, connect with others, and feel more confident every day.

My sessions are play-based, interest-led, and shaped around each child’s sensory and emotional needs. Families stay involved through coaching and collaboration so progress continues long after therapy ends.

Why This Matters to Me

I’m a mom myself, so I understand what it’s like to look for the right support and feel like no one fully gets your child. That experience drives the way I work: with empathy, patience, and a belief that every child deserves to feel understood and capable.

When I’m not in therapy sessions, I’m with my husband, two daughters, and our dog. We love traveling, crafting, reading, and finding new restaurants together.

How I Help Kids Grow

  • Individualized and connection-focused - Every child’s brain works differently, and that’s where we start. I use their interests and strengths to make learning meaningful.

  • Play-based and practical - Therapy feels fun and engaging while building skills kids can use in daily life.

  • Collaborative - Parents are part of the process. Together, we find strategies that fit your routines and your child’s needs.

Specialized Training That Sets Us Apart

I’ve completed extensive, hands-on training in the leading motor speech approaches, including PROMPT, Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing (DTTC), and the Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol.

This advanced background allows me to design precise, movement-based sessions that target the motor planning skills behind clear, coordinated speech.

Each session uses repetition, feedback, and playful motivation to help children with Apraxia build confidence and lasting progress in how they communicate.

Executive Function Therapy

Motor Speech Disorders

I’ve completed advanced coursework in executive function therapy, studying how attention, working memory, and flexible thinking support communication and learning.

This training allows me to help children strengthen organization, task initiation, and self-regulation through structured, research-based strategies.

My approach blends evidence from leading executive function models with hands-on, play-based practice, so skills learned in therapy carry over to daily routines, schoolwork, and social life.

My background includes advanced study in Natural Language Acquisition (NLA) and play-based relationship approaches such as DIR/Floortime, Hanen “More Than Words,” and The Play Project.

This gives me deep insight into how Autistic and ADHD children develop communication through connection, sensory play, and meaningful interaction.

Therapy supports all forms of communication — whether it’s scripted, gestural, or spoken — and helps kids move toward flexible, spontaneous language at their own pace. Parents learn strategies that bring these moments of connection into everyday life.
